This course is designed to introduce students to the foundations of the mission of God worldwide and how the Church participates in that mission. The course will attempt to cultivate a global concern and sense of Pentecostal urgency. The course will include an introduction to missiology, which includes an overview of Biblical and theological foundations, and a summary of historical perspectives which have led to the contemporary mission endeavor around the world. The course will also evaluate the missional nature of the local church in light of contemporary culture. In addition, we will look at current trends in missions. There will be a special emphasis on Pentecostal missions, especially in the Church of God. The emphasis of the course will be how the Church should be missional in nature and practice.
